HRTPACT Theme – Teamwork
Throughout July, the HRTPACT team focused on the value of Teamwork – a core part of how we operate at Coast & Country Sales. Teamwork is about more than just working together; it’s about working in harmony with others.
This month, we reflected on how we:
- Stay unified and aligned in what we aim to achieve as a team
- Keep calm under pressure and actively listen to one another
- Appreciate, acknowledge, and uplift our colleagues
- Recognise and support each other’s strengths and weaknesses, complementing one another
As always, our purpose remains clear: to help communities thrive, offer hope and opportunity, and create a workplace we would be proud for our children to work in one day.
Nelson Mandela Day
In honour of Nelson Mandela Day on 18 July, our office team dedicated their 67 minutes to preparing 250 sandwiches, which were distributed to those in need across Mitchells Plain, Maitland, Philippi, and Westlake. A small act of kindness goes a long way, and we were honoured to give back in Madiba’s memory.
Hannah’s Place of Safety
From February to June, the HRTPACT team collected baby essentials for Hannah’s Place of Safety, and in July, we had the joy of delivering them. Donations included toiletries, hand-knitted blankets, nappies, and fresh vegetables.
During our visit, the team was warmly welcomed with smiles and the scent of freshly brewed coffee from a food truck outside. Tracey, a long-time staff member, gave us a heartfelt tour and shared how Hannah’s Place of Safety provides a safe haven for vulnerable infants. We also got to revisit the “Adopt-a-Cot” initiative we supported earlier this year – covering the care of one baby for the entire year. The highlight? Cuddling the little ones in their care. A truly touching experience for our team.
Clothing Donations
Thanks to your generosity, we were able to bless several of our merchandisers with essential clothing items this month. Your contributions brought warmth, dignity, and smiles to many. Thank you!
Bridges Outdoor Education Camp
On 30 July, three members of our team spent the day at Bridges Outdoor Education Camp, facilitating activities for Grade 5 learners from Alpine Primary School. The day was filled with fun, learning, and connection. The students were respectful, enthusiastic, and a joy to work with.
Supplier Donations
A heartfelt thank you to our generous suppliers, whose support made a real impact this month:
- Glenmor Soap – Donated hundreds of laundry bars to several partner organisations including Bridges Foundation, Saartjie Baartman Rehabilitation Centre, Mitchell’s Plain Old Age Home, and Baphumelele Children’s Home.
- Libstar Chet Chemicals – Provided hundreds of bottles of bleach to the Bridges Foundation.
