April was a month filled with growth, learning, celebration, and meaningful connection across Coast & Country Sales. From empowering young learners through hands-on training opportunities to strengthening bonds within our teams, this month reminded us that investing in people remains at the heart of everything we do.
Whether through mentorship, collaboration, or simply taking time to connect and have fun together, April reflected the strong culture and spirit that continues to drive our business forward.

FCD Skills Center | Job Shadow Programme
We are proud to celebrate the official opening of our new office!
We are proud to continue our collaboration with FCD Skills Centre, based in the Durbanville and Phesantekraal areas, where learners are exposed to basic retail experience training and development opportunities.
Last month marked the completion of our third session, involving 10 learners placed across five northern stores under the guidance of Russell Hendricks and his team. During the four-day job shadow programme, learners gained exposure to our supplier basket, stock rotation processes, expired stock exercises, PI label updates, flashers, and promotional activations. Our in-store merchandisers also played an important role in mentoring and guiding learners through the day-to-day requirements of effective merchandising.
The programme will continue throughout the year, with learners spending five days in-store during every month-end week.
A special thank you to Russell and his team for investing their time and support into developing these young learners and equipping them with valuable skills for future employment opportunities.

April Cluster Meeting
Our April Cluster Meetings were about more than business updates and product launches. They were also an opportunity to strengthen teamwork and connection.
Teams participated in a fun and creative marshmallow-and-spaghetti tower challenge, working together to build the tallest possible structure. The room was filled with laughter, collaboration, problem-solving, and celebration as colleagues and managers joined forces to tackle the challenge. The activity served as a simple but powerful reminder that communication, trust, and teamwork form the foundation of everything we do, both in the trade and in the office.
A big thank you to our Area Managers and Unit Managers for their planning and coordination, and to Shane Daniels for the creative team-building idea that brought everyone together!

Birthday Celebrations
April’s birthday celebrations brought plenty of smiles, sweet treats, and special moments to the office. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the amazing individuals who make up the Coast & Country Sales team and to enjoy some time together outside of the busy workday.
Wishing all our April birthdays a fantastic year ahead!

Celebrating Graduates
Last month, we proudly celebrated the achievements of two incredible families within the Coast & Country team!
Natasha Bambie, Unit Manager in our Spar Division, recently attended her daughter, Abricha-nay Bambie’s graduation from the University of the Western Cape, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. This achievement is a testament to years of hard work, determination, and perseverance.
Congratulations to both Natasha and Abricha-nay on this wonderful milestone!

We also celebrated Shane, our Account Manager, whose son Kyle graduated with a Diploma in Sport and Exercise from ETA College at the Western Province Cricket Club. Kyle will soon begin an exciting new chapter in South Korea as a lecturer and coach: an incredible opportunity and achievement.

Congratulations to both families! We are honoured to celebrate these proud moments with you and wish your loved ones continued success in the future.
Team Spirit in Technicolour
Sometimes the best team moments are the ones no one plans!
One ordinary office morning quickly turned into something memorable as team members unknowingly arrived dressed in matching colours of green, black, and blue. By 8am, it felt like an accidental flash mob had formed! There were no memos, no planning, and no coordination. Just one of those funny little moments that instantly lifted everyone’s spirits.
Experiences like these remind us that strong team spirit often shows up in the smallest and most unexpected ways, and that somehow, we’re always more connected than we realise.

C&A: Work Hard, Play Hard
At Coast & Country Sales, C&A stands for Care & Accountability, and last month reminded us exactly why that matters.
Each month, teams take intentional time away from their desks to reconnect, reset, and focus on one another outside of the usual work environment. This month, the team explored the outdoor gym park near our new office, turning the afternoon into a fun-filled session of movement, laughter, and friendly competition. From trying out the gym equipment to encouraging one another through workouts, the afternoon was filled with energy and positivity. Most importantly, it gave everyone a chance to unwind, de-stress, and strengthen team connections.
We are grateful to work in a company that values people first and creates opportunities for meaningful connection and wellbeing!

April reminded us that success is built not only through hard work, but through people, relationships, and shared experiences.
Whether mentoring future talent, celebrating family achievements, strengthening teamwork, or simply laughing together during unexpected moments, every experience contributed to the culture that makes Coast & Country Sales so special.
As we move forward into the next season, we remain committed to supporting one another, growing together, and continuing to create opportunities that uplift both our teams and our communities. Thank you for being part of the journey!
